Homework
October 15, 2018
Dear Students and Parents,
Here is the homework packet for the week. It will be due this Friday. Please make sure that you have followed all directions in the homework packet. Remember, homework is considered an assignment for class and will be graded. The same efforts put into class assignments must also be given to your homework assignments. Since this is a weekly packet, make sure that you are organizing your time effectively to ensure the completion of your homework packet by Friday.
Please look over the purple note in the purple homework folder and sign them. Have your child return them to class the following day.

-Spelling /Vocabulary-Study your spelling words this week. They deal with the long u spelling patterns. It is important to know how to spell each of your spelling words appropriately, so make sure you are spending time studying. Make sure you know how to use each vocabulary word correctly in a sentence (and show the meaning of the word through your sentence.)

A= Audience-This is who you are writing to or for.
F= Format-This will tell you what format you need to produce: a letter, an invitation, a menu, a short poem, etc…
T= Task-This part shows what you need to do. Since this is for vocabulary and spelling, you will need to use some spelling and all vocabulary words from your list this week.
S= Strong Verb-This is what you want to show in your product-You could be asked to encourage, or persuade, or explain.
-Book Log-Remember, you should be reading at least 10-20 minutes a day for your monthly book log. You have a goal for the year to read 16 books of varying genres. Please make sure you have chosen a book or two for this month to help you reach this goal. Your book log is due November 2, 2018.
-Math lessons-Complete your math lessons as needed. Return them to school the next day.
