Science Project Research
Now that you have chosen your topic, you are going to do some research. You will do research in class, but I would like to see you gather information outside of class as well.
First, you will need to come up with a thesis statement for your experiment. You can formulate your thesis by using a question or a statement. For example, if you were conducting an experiment on how to create a battery out of a lemon, you might sy something like "Can lemons be used to create a battery?", or, "Lemons and other fruits can be used to create a battery."
Once you have done this, your goal is to learn as much as you can about the focus topic you have chosen. For example, if you are doing an experiment on creating a battery using different fruits, you might want to learn information about the following:
This week for homework, research, research, research, research. You may research online, you may got to the library, you may talk to people (hmmmm, call a scientist). We will be doing research in class as well - all week long. Next week, we will begin to work on writing all this information down for your final copy. You will also begin working on your experiment at home.
